I conceived the December installation at the “Klub” on Štúrova Street in Košice as a visual study of Christmas symbolism, stripped of narrative ballast and transformed into a pure spiritual form. My curatorial and artistic strategy relied on the principles of contrast and light reflection, while the selection of works was subject to strict criteria of visual clarity and luminescence.

The exhibited collection of works transcends the framework of seasonal themes and opens a broader discourse on the intersection of visual perceptions, metaphysical references, and symbolic layers. Within this “Christmas-winter” metaphor, I explore the binary oppositions that shape our existence: eternity versus the moment, cosmic void versus matter, and the fundamental relationship between light and darkness.

From Beginning to Knowledge: Geometry as a Medium

The exhibition represents an attempt to grasp a broader perspective on the process of searching for meaning—from the act of creation to the point of transcendental knowledge. I communicate this narrative through reductive aesthetics and geometric abstraction:

The Geometry of Eternity: In my interpretation, the circle does not merely represent a closed shape; it becomes a universal symbol of continuity and timelessness.

The Spectrum of Emptiness: Black and anthracite tones are not just an absence of color; they are a means of expression for existential void and the silence that precedes the search for identity.

Luminescent Hope: The integration of reflective materials, glitters, silver pigments, and phosphorous elements serves as a visual counterpoint, symbolizing the presence of light and metaphysical hope within a dark field.

Minimalist Language and Existential Dialogue

Working with an achromatic scale (black and white) allows me to articulate themes of existentialism without the distracting influences of colorism. I utilize these neutral positions to oscillate between a minimalist whisper and an expressive visual scream. Ultimately, the exhibition is an intimate reflection on the formation of identity in the search for meaning, where the artistic artifact becomes a mediator between the artist and the viewer.

Support and Realization:

The project was created with the generous organizational support of Ján Gálik. I am grateful to J. Škop for the professional technical installation and precise visual documentation (photo/video).

The exhibition held the status of a partially for-sale exposition, with a proportional part of the contributions donated to support the development of the “Klub.” My thanks go to all visitors for their perceptive presence and participation in this dialogue.
