My artistic journey is not a linear narrative, but rather a sequence of intense cycles, forced silences, and recurring returns to the essence of material. If I were to define a pivotal moment in my current practice, it would be August 2015. It was then that the need to paint reconstructed itself within me with a new, deeper intensity, building upon sporadic creative periods from 2012 and 2013.
In my experience, art has never existed in a vacuum; it has always been in direct dialogue with the reality of life. The period after 2018—marked by family responsibilities, a global pandemic, and the process of building a home—created a void in my painting. It was a silence, yet it was not barren. This provisional pause in active creation culminated in August 2023 with a definitive decision to realize all my accumulated visions.
My work has undergone a natural transformation. Although I was originally fascinated by the depth of monochrome and black-and-white aesthetics, the process of searching led me to a different, more colorful muse. At the same time, I was forced to re-evaluate the physical aspect of my work. Moving away from large formats due to health reasons did not stop me; on the contrary, it taught me to concentrate my energy into more intimate scales, where I am now gradually fulfilling my creative dreams.
Currently, I am in a phase of revision and finalization. I am working with an archive of my own unfinished pieces—completing some, radically transforming others. I consciously limit the consumption of new materials; I do not buy new canvases, choosing instead to focus on pigment and color as the primary vessels of emotion. It is a process of closing one chapter of a larger whole.
My approach is pragmatic and humble toward my own energy. I reject the pressure of simultaneous production and marketing. My goal is to complete my current body of work and subsequently move toward reproduction, digital graphics, or literary creation. I do not know if there will be a place for traditional painting in my future, but I view this as the natural evolution of an artist who is not afraid to change media to remain true to their current lived experience. My work is a record of what was possible to achieve within a given time and under specific circumstances—without embellishment and with respect for the journey traveled
